Tarbiyat al-Mar'ah wa-al-Hijab

Qāsim Amīn's claim that the ḥijāb is the cause of the backwardness of Muslim women has been exposed as false by the realities we witness today. Tens of thousands of women who adhere to the ḥijāb have earned advanced degrees in medicine, engineering, and the sciences, and practise these professions successfully, to the point that they have become exemplary models. All of this has been achieved while remaining committed to the ḥijāb.

Qāsim Amīn's assertions were nothing more than propaganda serving the Christian missionary movement, whose proponents sought to undermine Islam by every possible means.

The scholars rose to expose the falsity of Qāsim Amīn's claims. Among them was the architect of Egypt's twentieth-century economic revival, Ṭalʿat Ḥarb Pasha, who produced a measured and well-reasoned refutation, supported by arguments and evidence, demonstrating the falsehood and invalidity of Amīn's assertions.

Today, with the spread of unveiled dress throughout many Muslim lands, republishing this book, The Upbringing of Women and the Ḥijāb, has become a daʿwah necessity, intended to raise awareness among Muslim women so that they may remain steadfast upon the path of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He.

إن زعم قاسم أمين أن الحجاب هو سبب تخلف المرأة المسلمة انكشف بطلانه في أرض الواقع مما نراه اليوم من عشرات آلاف النساء اللائي يحملن شهادات عليا في الطب والهندسة والعلوم ويمارسن هذه العلوم في الحياة بنجاح حتى أصبحن مضرب المثل كل هذا مع التزامهن بالحجاب.ولم تكن دعوى قاسم أمين إلا ترويجاً لدعاة التبشير من الصليبيين الذين يحاولون الإساءة إلى الإسلام بشتى الوسائل.وقد تصدى العلماء كشف بطلان دعوى قاسم أمين، وكان من هؤلاء العلماء باني الاقتصاد المصري في القرن العشرين (طلعة حرب باشا) الذي رد على قاسم رداً رصيناً مدعماً بالحجج والبراهين فبين زيف دعاواه وأبطلها.واليوم ومع انتشار السفور في البلاد الإسلامية أصبح إعادة نشر هذا الكتاب «تربية المرأة والحجاب» ضرورة دعوية لتوعية المرأة المسلمة لتثبت على منهج الله سبحانه
