This is a highly-rated classical work in Qawaid. al-Ghazzi praises it saying:

“He authored ...a large and valuable book on analogous questions in jurisprudence. This is the work commonly known as al-Qawāʿid. It is a precious and eminent book, demonstrating great merit and extensive learning. Whenever I consult it, my affection for it only increases. Our teacher, the eminent scholar Muḥyī al-Dīn al-Miṣrī, used to recommend it to us and urge us to study it, saying that nothing comparable to it had ever been written, and he would relate the same judgement from the leading scholars.” Bahjat al-Nāẓirīn ilā Tarājim al-Mutaʾakhkhirīn min al-Shāfiʿiyyah al-Bāriʿīn (p. 117)

قلت: وهو المشهور بالقواعد وهو كتاب نفيس جليل يدل على فضل كبير واطلاع كثير وما أطالعه إلا وأزداد فيه محبة، وكان شيخنا العلامة محيي الدين المصري يوصينا به وبمطالعته ويقول: أنه ما صنف مثله ويذكر ذلك عن الأئمة
