Hady al-Quran al-Karim ila al-Hujjah wa al-Burhan

A thoughtful work of Qurʾānic guidance and reflection by the distinguished Syrian scholar and muḥaddith Shaykh ʿAbd Allāh Sirāj al-Dīn al-Ḥusaynī (1342–1422 AH / 1924–2002). The book explores the manner in which the Qurʾān addresses the human intellect and heart through proof, evidence and reflection, directing the reader towards certainty in the fundamental truths of faith. It forms part of the author’s broader body of writings devoted to explaining Qurʾānic guidance and strengthening īmān.

Rather than presenting a conventional verse-by-verse tafsīr, Shaykh ʿAbd Allāh draws together Qurʾānic passages that demonstrate the Qurʾān’s methods of argumentation and proof (ḥujjah wa-burhān). He considers how the Qurʾān calls mankind to contemplate the signs of Allah, employs rational and revealed evidence, and illuminates the intellect and heart in establishing the realities of faith. Among the themes treated is what the author describes as the “Qurʾānic light and its illumination of minds and hearts” (al-nūr al-Qurʾānī wa-iḍāʾatuhu ʿalā al-ʿuqūl wa’l-qulūb).

The work is therefore concerned not merely with collecting theological proofs, but with demonstrating a characteristic feature of Qurʾānic methodology: its appeal to observation, reflection and sound reasoning alongside revelation. Through his discussion of selected verses, the author seeks to show how Qurʾānic argument establishes and reinforces the foundations of Islamic belief while cultivating thoughtful engagement with the signs and teachings of the Qurʾān.
