Tarajim Sittah min Fuqaha' al-'Alam al-Islami fi al-Qarn al-Rabi' 'Ashar al-Hijri

A valuable biographical and juristic work by Shaykh ʿAbd al-Fattāḥ Abū Ghuddah, presenting substantial biographies of six outstanding jurists of the fourteenth Islamic century, deliberately selected from six different regions of the Muslim world: India, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Palestine and the Arabian Peninsula.

The six scholars are ʿAllāmah Muḥammad Anwar Shāh al-Kashmīrī, Shaykh Aḥmad al-Zarqā, Shaykh Aḥmad Ibrāhīm al-Ḥusaynī, Shaykh Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan al-Ḥajwī, Shaykh ʿĪsā ibn Yūsuf Mannūn, and Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm Āl al-Shaykh. Abū Ghuddah discusses their scholarly formation, juristic careers, learning, character and contributions, arranging the biographies according to the dates of their deaths.

More than a collection of biographies, the work incorporates selections from the scholars' fiqh writings and legal investigations, including uncommon scholarly benefits and discussions of difficult juristic questions and their resolution.
