Mahasin al-Istilah wa Tadmin Kitab Ibn al-Salah

Maḥāsin al-Iṣṭilāḥ wa-Taḍmīn Kitāb Ibn al-Ṣalāḥ (محاسن الاصطلاح وتضمين كتاب ابن الصلاح) is an important classical work on ḥadīth terminology (muṣṭalaḥ al-ḥadīth) by the great Shāfiʿī scholar Sirāj al-Dīn ʿUmar ibn Raslān al-Bulqīnī (724–805 AH).

Al-Bulqīnī composed this work by incorporating Ibn al-Ṣalāḥ’s book while adding important material of his own. The author follows Ibn al-Ṣalāḥ’s Muqaddimah paragraph by paragraph, reformulating and incorporating its contents, and then follows them with useful observations and additions.

These elaborate upon matters that Ibn al-Ṣalāḥ treated briefly, supplement what he omitted, and discuss points in his statements wherever grounds for objection arise. Having reached the end of the Muqaddimah in his Maḥāsin, al-Bulqīnī then proceeds to present five categories of the sciences of ḥadīth that Ibn al-Ṣalāḥ did not discuss in his Muqaddimah.
