Hidayat al-Mahdiyyin li-Usul al-Islam

A concise Ottoman-era work dealing with Islamic creed and, in particular, the boundaries between īmān and kufr, by the Ḥanafī scholar Yūsuf ibn Junayd al-Tūqādī, also known as Akhī Yūsuf Çelebizāde (d. 905 AH). The work is especially concerned with identifying statements, actions and beliefs that may constitute disbelief, together with cases in which a Muslim is not to be declared an unbeliever. It thus lies at the intersection of Ḥanafī fiqh and the classical literature on alfāẓ al-kufr and apostasy.
