الميسر في أصول التفسير

Our madaris generally only teach one text in Usul at-Tafsir. While al-Fawz al-Kabir is the popular choice, many ulama have realised that there is a need to teach something that presents the field in a more structured manner and also includes the developments and research of the last few centuries.

Dr Musa’id at-Tayyar is considered the expert in the field, with his works being the most authoritative, especially his at-Tahrir fi Usul at-Tafsir. The book is a bit too detailed for inclusion in syllabi of institutes; thus, it was abridged into this book, al-Muyassar fi Usul at-Tafsir.
