It has always been a huge mission within the ummah to uphold
the learning of the language of the Qur'an, and that of the Greatest of all Messengers-Muhammad.
In accomplishing this task, books were written in different languages, coming down the aisle of many centuries.
Since the demands change in each era and place, based on the variance of mind-sets and abilities of learners, scholars of every era prepared books to fulfill the needs of their times and places respectively.
This is notwithstanding the fact that, normally only a single book of a single author would not fill the gap of the need, but each author would produce a work to fill a particular aspect thereof. Thus, the needs of learners would be fulfilled by a number of books put together.
For example, a learner of the Arabic language would require a few good readers, a book on the laws of Nahw (Syntax), a book on the laws of Sarf (Morphology), a book to practically learn application of the above mentioned laws, a book for day to day phrases, a book to learn the 'English' equivalents of the grammatical terms, etc.
The book you have in your hands today, in my humble opinion, was an incredible attempt made by both, the experienced author as well as the learned translator, to fulfill most of the above needs in a single book, no matter what the background or needs of the learner may be.
Both the author and translator have kept all types of learners in mind when pre-paring this book.
