Mu'jam Maqayis al-Lughah

This monumental Arabic dictionary was compiled by its author on the basis of five major works: Al-ʿAyn by al-Khalīl ibn Aḥmad al-Farāhīdī, Gharīb al-Ḥadīth and Muṣannaf al-Gharīb by Abū ʿUbayd, Kitāb al-Manṭiq by Ibn al-Sikkīt, and Al-Jamharah by Ibn Durayd. Material drawn from other sources is explicitly identified by the author.

The dictionary is arranged alphabetically according to the first letter of each root, with entries further organised by their second letter. In this edition, the verses cited are attributed to their respective authors in the footnotes. This is a full-colour edition.

كتابنا هذا معجم لغوي عظيم جمعه مؤلفه معتمدا على خمسة كتب عظيمة هي: 1ـ العين للخليل بن أحمد الفراهيدي، 2ـ غريب الحديث، 3ـ مصنف الغريب وكلاهما لأبي عبيد،4ـ كتاب المنطق لابن السكيت، 5ـ الجمهرة لابن دريد . وما كان من غيرها نص عليه عند النقل وقد رتبه على حروف الهجاء في الحرف الأول من المادة فبدأ بالهمزة، ويجعل الحرف الثاني الذي يلي الأول . فبدأ في كتاب الهمزة بـ (أب) ثم (أت)، وفي كتاب الفاء بـ (فق) ثم (فك) وهلم جرا وقد نسبت الأبيات في الهامش إلى قائليها . وهذه طبعة ملونة
