al-Majmu'ah al-Bahiyyah 'ala al-'Awamil al-Jurjaniyyah wa-al-Birkawiyyah

A valuable collection of six classical texts on Arabic grammar (ʿIlm al-Naḥw), bringing together two of the most widely studied introductory works on the grammatical governing elements (ʿAwāmil), together with their commentaries and marginal annotations. The collection is particularly useful for students of traditional Islamic seminaries, where the study of ʿAwāmil forms an important foundation for understanding Arabic syntax and grammatical analysis (Iʿrāb).

The second part is devoted to al-ʿAwāmil al-Jadīdah of Muḥammad ibn Pīr ʿAlī al-Birkawī (d. 981 AH), another influential introductory work that presents the principles of grammatical governance through a different arrangement. Alongside it are Tuḥfat al-Ikhwān of Muṣṭafā ibn Ibrāhīm al-Ghalībulī, a commentary explaining al-Birkawī's text, and Ḥāshiyat al-Kharbūtī of ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn ʿUmar al-Nuʿaymī al-Kharbūtī (d. 1320 AH), offering additional explanations and annotations.

The inclusion of both original texts, their respective commentaries and supplementary marginal notes makes this collection especially beneficial for classroom instruction and independent study. Students can progress from the concise formulations of the original works to more detailed explanations, while teachers have access to several levels of grammatical discussion within a single volume.
