Allamah Kawthari's power-packed forewards to books are often more beneficial that the book itself. This is a muhaqqaq collection of them, filled with fawaid and tahqiq.

هذا سِفْرٌ نفيس، جَمَع مقدِّمات الإمام العلّامة المحدّث محمد زاهد الكوثري (ت1371هـ) شامةِ العصر الذي قلَّ من يدانيه في القرون المتأخرة في تحقيقه للعلوم، وجمعِه بين معقولِها ومنقولِها.وكلُّ مَن قرأ للعلّامة الكوثري يعلم أنّ ما ينشره وما يكتبه فيه لباب التحقيق، والغاية في التدقيق، ولأجل ذلك عُنينا بإخراج هذا المقدِّمات التي كتبها هذا العالم الكبير على الكتب التي حققها أو قرّظَها أو عرّف بها، في حلةٍ قشيبةٍ رائقة. وقد قرأها وقدّم لها العلّامة المحدِّث الشيخ محمد عوّامة حفظه الله وبارك في حياته.

This is a precious volume that brings together the introductions of the eminent scholar and hadith master Muhammad Zahid al-Kawthari (d. 1371 AH), an ornament of his age, who had few peers in later centuries in his mastery and critical verification of the Islamic sciences and his combination of their rational and transmitted disciplines.

Anyone who has read the works of the eminent al-Kawthari knows that his publications and writings embody the very essence of scholarly verification and the utmost precision. It was for this reason that we took care to publish these introductions written by this great scholar for books that he edited, commended, or introduced, presenting them in a splendid and elegant form. The collection was read and furnished with an introduction by the eminent hadith master Shaykh Muhammad ʿAwwamah—may Allah preserve him and bless his life.
