Min A'lam al-Muslimin wa Mashahirihim

While we are all aware of the great benefits of studying biographies of ulama, we are generally very lax in this respect, even for our own elders.
As for famous ulama out of our circles, we probably don’t know more than their names!
 
This work is a collection of maqalat by Mawlana Abu ‘l-Hasan Ali an-Nadwi, each consisting of the biography of a scholar. A few of them are lengthy, covering personalities like Salah ad-Din al-Ayyubi, Shah Ahmad Shahid, Iqbal etc.
The vast majority of them are short, in a few pages and cover a wide-range of luminaries from the akabir of India like Ml Rahmat Allah al-Kiranwi, Ml Ilyas, Ml Yusuf, Sh Zakariya to seniors in the Arab World like Dr Mustafa as-Siba’i, Hasan Banna, Mufti Amin Husayni. He even covers Mawdudi, Sayyid Qutb and Sh Yusuf al-Qardawi!
 
This enjoyable work is perfect for giving us a glimpse into the lives of these luminaries.
