I'lam al-A'lam bi-Manaqib Shaykh al-Islam

This is an excellent biography of the leading scholar of his age, the foremost jurist of his time, the authority of the muftis, Shaykh al-Islām Imam Taqī al-Dīn al-Subkī. He was regarded as the third of the great Shaykhs of the Shāfiʿī school after al-Nawawī and al-Rāfiʿī; thus, when the term “the Shaykhs” is used, it refers to al-Rāfiʿī, al-Nawawī, and al-Subkī.
