يتكلم الكتاب على المواد الطبيعية وخواصها العلاجية،

وقد قسمه المؤلف الى قسمين : الاول في ذكر جمل جواهر الادوية وطعمها وقواها بحسب تقسيم جالينوس والثاني تضمن تقسيما للادوية الى نباتية ومعدنية وحيوانية،

وقد جمع فيه يبين اقوال جالينوس وديسقوريدس ويذكر اقوال غيرهما من الاطباء العرب الذين سبقوه، كما يذكر ما توصل اليه هو. وقد الحق بالكتاب فهرس بالادوية والنباتات

This work discusses natural substances and their therapeutic properties. The author divides it into two sections: the first presents the fundamental categories of medicinal substances, their tastes, and their medicinal qualities according to the classification of Galen; the second classifies medicines into those of plant, mineral, and animal origin.

The author brings together the views of Galen and Dioscorides, cites the opinions of earlier Arab physicians, and also records his own findings. This edition is supplemented with an index of the medicinal substances and plants mentioned in the work.
