These two books were written by Al-Allamatul Muhaddith, Shaykh Muhammad `Awwamah (hafizahullah) many years ago to stem the onslaught of the salafi mindset.
They have proven to be very effective in rectifying one's outlook (manhaj) in the academic discussions of Hadith.

These two works of Shaykh Awwamah should be compulsory reading for any student of din and should be taught to students before the final year, so that the differences amongst fuqaha could be understood in the correct light.

The only available edition of this book was the Dar al-Minhaj edition; however, their prints are really pricey. Mawlana Muhammad Abasoomar had the book beautifully printed in Turkey in an attempt to make it more affordable for students.
