Most Shafi’i students and ulama are familiar with al-Fiqh al-Manhaji, a well-structured fiqh work, aimed at beginners.
This book, al-Mu’tamad, could be considered a step up from it, aimed at the more serious students and scholars, covering much more masail with greater detail.

Authored in a similar manner, it only mentions the mu’tamad view for each mas’alah, giving adillah extensively and leaving out masail and chapters that are not needed in these times, like those concerning slavery etc.
