النفحات العاطرة في جمع القراءات العشرة المتواترة

al-Nafahat al-'Atirah fi Jam' al-Qira'at al-'Ashr al-Mutawatirah

This is an accessible work on the canonical, mutawātir Qurʾānic readings, unique in that it assists those who wish to recite the readings collectively before their teachers using the method of combining the readings within a single verse.

It presents the principles (uṣūl) of each individual reader separately, from Qālūn through Khalaf, the tenth reader, together with the supporting verses from al-Shāṭibiyyah and al-Durrah. In this way, it guides the beginner in this science and clarifies the differences between the reading of Ḥafṣ and those of the other readers, while also serving as a reminder for the scholar.

The work also covers the individual variant readings (farsh al-ḥurūf) throughout the entire Qurʾān, from Sūrat al-Fātiḥah to Sūrat al-Nās. It cites each verse together with the readings transmitted therein and their supporting verses from al-Shāṭibiyyah and al-Durrah. It then explains the method of combining the readings of the ten readers within each verse, beginning with Qālūn and then joining to him, successively, the reader whose reading is closest to his, and so on until the end of the verse, as is well known among specialists in this discipline. The work also includes the taḥrīrāt, permissible modes of recitation, and various beneficial points.

إنَّه كتابٌ ميسِّرٌ لعلمِ القراءاتِ المتواترةِ، فريدٌ في كونهِ يُعينُ مَن أرادَ جمعَ القراءاتِ على المشايخِ بطريقةِ جمعِ الآيةِ، حيثُ ذكرَ أصولَ كلِّ قارئٍ على حِدةٍ، من قالونَ إلى خلَفِ العاشرِ معَ دليلِ ذلكَ منَ الشّاطبيةِ والدرَّةِ، ليَأخذَ بيدِ الطالبِ المبتدئِ في هذا العلمِ، ويوضِّحَ لهُ الخلافَ بينَ حفصٍ وباقي القرّاءِ، وفي ذلكَ تذكرةٌ للعالِمِ أيضاً، كما تناولَ فَرْشَ الحروفِ في القرآنِ كلِّهِ من سورةِ الفاتحةِ إلى سورةِ الناسِ، بذِكرِ الآيةِ وما وردَ فيها مِن قراءاتٍ مع الشاهدِ منَ الشّاطبيةِ والدرَّةِ، ثم بذكرِ طريقةِ جمعِ القرّاءِ العشَرةِ في الآيةِ عَبرَ البَدءِ بقالونَ ثمَّ عطْفِ الأقربِ فالأقربِ إلى نهايةِ الآيةِ كما هوَ معلومٌ عندَ أهلِ هذا الفنِّ، مع ذكرِ التَّحريراتِ والأوجهِ والفوائدِ.
