Sharh al-Hidayah al-Musamma Nihayat al-Kifayah li-Dirayat al-Hidayah

This is a collection of two important commentaries on al-Hidayah in Hanafi Fiqh.

The first is amongst the early commentaries of the book, by Taj as-Shari’ah al-Mahbubi (d. circa 700 AH). It is a complete commentary of the book, with the focus more on giving the ilal for masail and clarifying unclear passages. Due to it being an early commentary, it is the earliest source of many of the explanations found in the shuruh of Hidayah. This sharh covers the first 9 volumes of this collection.

The second sharh is by Ibn Kamal Basha (d. 940 AH), an accepted master in nearly every field. His sharh stands out for tahqiq and munaqasha and is filled with objections on earlier commentators like al-Atqani, Ibn al-Humam etc. It is a high-level commentary, with detailed discussions in usul, lughah and fiqh covering a wide range of issues.
The author was never able to complete the book; thus, it ends in Kitab al-Buyu, covering about half of Hidayah. This covers volumes 10 until 13.

Both books are expertly-edited using multiple manuscripts and printed for the first time. They are a must for the library of every Madrasah.
