This is a collection of 1222 biographies of ulama who are serving/served the Din all over the world, from amongst the students of Dar al-Ulum Deoband, Saharanpur and Muradabad.

The manhaj is similar to that of Zirikli's al-A'lam, with more detail on the studies and khidmat of each person. Filled with fawaid.

Paging through it, I came across a number of ulama from South Africa, including Ml Omarjee, Ml Yunus Patel, Ml Bayazid, Ml Muhammad Haneef Afriki, Ml Muhammad Musa Mia, Ml Moosa Hatia etc

First printed in India, this is the new, updated edition printed in Beirut.
