أضواء البيان في إيضاح القرآن بالقرآن-عطاءات العلم

We have all studied (or should have studied) some Ulum al-Quran, including the various methodologies adopted by mufassirin. Amongst them is تفسير القرآن بالقرآن, which is considered a very reliable method, however widespread application of it isn’t very common in earlier works.

While there are a number of later works that focused on this aspect, Adwa al-Bayan of Sh Muhammad Amin as-Shinqiti is probably the best example of this genre and a work to be studied to really understand what tafsir of the Quran by the Quran really entails.

The author is proof that even in these times it is possible for Allah Ta'ala to bless individuals with such knowledge of the Quran that was unheard of.

We describe certain individuals as a walking Quran, however this shaykh took it to another level.One of the senior Saudi Ulama once warned others against debating this Shaykh, saying:

إنَّ من نصيحتي لك أن لا تتكلم في مجلس فيه هذا الرجل الذي تَسَلَّح بآياتِ كتاب الله، ينظر إليها كأنها بين عينيه، فلا يؤمن على أَحَدٍ عارضه أن يرميه بآيةٍ تخرجه من الملة، نسأل الله السّلامة والعافية

It should be noted that he did have some Salafi tendencies in aqidah, so be cautious of aqidah discussions.
