While refuting the Shia, Wahhabi’s and other firaq batilah is necessary, the real need of the time is to address the intellectual irtidad ravaging the ummah. There are so many who are counted as Muslims, but their hearts are bereft of Iman, having giving in to the doubts that are being sown by the forces of batil.

Let us not delude ourselves that we need to study books that answer these objections so that we can save the awwam. It is the ulama and students of Din that need to be saved first, then only can they save the ummah. If we aren’t convinced, how can we ever convince the ummah?

Some of us might have heard heartbreaking incidents of huffaz from pious families who became murtad, despite involvement in tabligh and tasawwuf. Even more concerning are reports of ulama who have become apostate. Then there is the horror story of an Ifta Grad who became an atheist! May Allah Ta’ala guide them all back to Islam.

This is a short, but powerful work by the master in logical reasoning, Hadrat Thanawi. He tackles a number of doubts and arguments put forward by modernists and atheists concerning Islam, labelling each issue as a “tanbih”.
Before delving into them, he first laid down seven priceless usuls. These are integral to understanding the arguments adopted throughout the book.
The translator/muhaqqiq of this edition then added 13 more similar usuls, taken from the works of masters like Allamahs Kawthari, Kashmiri and Sabri.

This book was authored in Urdu. For many of us, Hadrat Thanawi’s deeper ilmi works in urdu are more difficult to decipher than Hidayah and Baydawi! Thus, a good translation is easier to understand.
While this book was translated into Arabic previously, that translation wasn’t up to par. This is an easy to grasp translation, which seems to accurately portray the arguments put forward.
The muhaqqiq then added numerous priceless footnotes that further add value to this book.

This book or its equivalent is required in the curriculum of every single madrasah.
