Despite the importance of Nahw, we sadly study very little of it. The highest book we study in Nahw, Hidayat an-Nahw, is an entry-level book, so us claiming to have studied Nahw, is like someone studying Taleemul Haq, then claiming to have studied Hanafi Fiqh!
Any serious study of nahw would have to start from the Alfiyyah of Ibn Malik.
This amazing collection, allows one to benefit from multiple giants in this field.
It firstly gives you Ibn Malik’s Alfiyyah, the relied upon text in Nahw.
It is followed by the commentary of his son, another giant in Lughah, with his sharh described by many as the best sharh on the Alfiyyah.
This is followed by the detailed Hashiyah of Shaykh al-Islam, Zakariya an-Ansari, which is filled with fawaid including replies to the son’s i’tiradat on his father.
The editor then added on most of al-Maliki’s Hashiyah on the son’s sharh as well.
He also brings fawaid and explanation from other shuruh on the Alfiyyah, resulting in this four-volume work being a comprehensive resource for one wishing to further his studies in Nahw.
Expertly edited, using 3 manuscripts for the son’s sharh and 4 for the Hashiyah of Shaykh al-Islam.
Beautiful, high-quality edition in 4 volumes
