The first major work on Hanafi Tarajim was Qurashi’s الجواهر المضيئة. There were a few minor works prior to it. Due to being the first to write in the field, there are a number of awham in the book.

This is a huge ذيل on Qurashi's book, covering ulama after Qurashi until the author, Ibn Tulun (d.953 AH). Ibn Tulun was a prolific author, with over 700 works to his name!

Amongst the benefits of this book is that it
- Contains many tarajim not found in other Hanafi Tarajim works
- Corrections of a number of errors of Qurashi.
- Fawaid not found elsewhere.

While your normal Hanafi Tarajim works would contain basic info about the mutarjam lahu, this one is very detailed, as the author paid special attention to mentioning any fawaid he could find from or about the person.
Virtually every tarjamah contains fawaid narrated directly from the handwriting of the mutarjam lahu or from the handwriting of someone close to him, mentioning anecdotes, fawaid etc not found elsewhere.

This is an important addition to the Hanafi Tarajim section that sadly has very few detailed works in print.
