Despite the great importance of studying the field of Ahadith Mawdu’ah (Fabricated Narrations), most students and ulama find it difficult. This is largely due to the fact that most of the books in the field seem to have been authored for specialists and aren’t really user-friendly. There are times where one could read the entire discussion on a hadith in a book and still not know whether it could be quoted or not!

This work of Mulla Ali Qari is the most user-friendly work one could ever expect to find. Arranged in alphabetical order, he mentions the hadith then gives the hukm on it in one word or a short phrase. It is an easy read and would allow one to attain basic recognition of many of the famous fabrications and then move on to more detailed works.

This edition has the priceless footnotes of Sh Abd al-Fattah Abu Ghuddah, who would often point out when a narration is in fact proven or if there is some ikhtilaf on it.

At the end of the book, Mulla Ali Qari brought a section with assorted fawaid, many of them very helpful in identifying fabricated narrations.

High-quality expertly-edited edition, however it should be noted that this book was edited decades ago, so it isn’t your typical modern typeset. It is clear and easy to read though.
