Bulugh al-Ma'ali bi-Sharh Manzumat Bad' al-Amali

The poem Badʾ al-Amālī is one of the widely circulated didactic poems on the principles of religion (ʿilm al-tawḥīd). Comprising sixty-nine verses, it brings together the fundamentals of the creed of Ahl al-Sunnah wa-l-Jamāʿah. It was received with widespread acceptance, and scholars readily undertook to write commentaries upon it. It was composed by the eminent and accomplished Imam Sirāj al-Dīn Abū Muḥammad ʿAlī ibn ʿUthmān al-Ūshī (d. 575 AH), one of the prominent scholars of the city of Ūsh, situated in the Ferghana Valley and now within the state of Kyrgyzstan.

The commentary of Shaykh Dr. Sayf ibn ʿAlī al-ʿAṣrī, may Allah preserve him, occupies a middle position among the commentaries on this poem. It gathers together their valuable insights, captures their scattered benefits, clarifies difficult issues, and further enriches their benefits. It thus truly deserves to be entitled Bulūgh al-Maʿālī and to appear in this fine and beautiful form.

منظومة «بدء الأمالي» من المنظومات السيّارة في علم أصول الدين (علم التوحيد)، أبياتها 69 بيتًا، جمعت أصول عقيدة أهل السنة والجماعة، وحظيت بالقبول، وتسارع العلماء إلى شرحها، وهي من نظم الإمام العلّامة المحقق سراج الدين أبي محمد علي بن عثمان الأُوشيّ (المتوفى سنةَ 575هـ)، من أعيان مدينة أُوش الواقعة على وادي فرغانة، تقع الآن ضمن دولة قيرغيزستان.

ويأتي شرح الشيخ الدكتور سيف بن علي العصري حفظه الله لهذه المنظومة متوسطًا بين شروحها، جامعًا لفوائدها، مقتنصًا لشواردها، محرِّرًا لمشكلاتها، معزِّزًا لفوائدها، مستحِقًا لأن يسمى بلوغ المعالي، وأن يكون في هذه الحلة الحسَنة الجميلة.
