Ibn as-Sa’ati was an Allamah in the Hanafi Madhab and a master Usuli. He authored a work in Usul, Badi’ an-Nizam, that it unmatched, in that the author skillfully blended both Hanafi and Shafi’i Usul, pointing out the differences and even trying to reconcile where possible.

Badi’ isn’t your run of the mill, basic usuli text, rather it is a high-level work, that not only discusses each side, but also adillah and arguments of each and their replies. All this in an extremely concise format. This work is highly-acclaimed by the masters in usul.

Due to the difficulties involved in understanding the text multiple commentaries were authored. This is the sharh of Abu ‘t-Thana al-Asfahani, just printed for the first time.

This commentary firstly takes the text of Badi’ and presents it in easy-to-understand text, then adds on important points, clarifications, replies etc, all which enhance the text and allow one to easily grasp it.
