Jawahir al-Durar fi 'Ilm Muqaranat al-Suwar

This book presents a foundational framework for the science of comparative sūrah studies, which is concerned with elucidating the thematic and verbal relationships and connections between groups of Qur’anic sūrahs that the author terms “Qur’anic families.”

This branch of the Qur’anic sciences is distinguished by its investigation of subtle connections and its elucidation of the verbal architecture distributed throughout sūrahs with similar openings, sūrahs with similar verse endings, and sūrahs that begin with similar structures and patterns of expression without their openings necessarily sharing the same lexical material. It is a vast and expansive field that opens new avenues for academic researchers and lovers of Qur’anic eloquence to engage in deeper reflection upon the revealed text and to appreciate the aesthetic beauty of the Qur’anic sūrahs’ masterful construction.

This exegetical approach also answers a number of enduring Qur’anic questions, assists in explaining many verses involving verbal similarities, and establishes beyond doubt certain aspects of the underlying features of groups of Qur’anic sūrahs whose openings resemble one another, such as the family of sūrahs beginning with al-ḥamd, the Musabbiḥāt, the family of sūrahs beginning with Tabāraka, and others. It likewise explores other aspects of the relationships between sūrahs whose openings follow similar patterns, such as the family of al-Ṣāffāt, al-Dhāriyāt, al-Mursalāt, and their related sūrahs.

    يُمثّلُ هذا الكتاب رؤيةً تأصيليّةً لعلم مقارنات السّور الذي يُعنى بإيضاح العلاقات والرّوابط المضمونيّة واللّفظيّة بين مجموعات السّور القرآنيّة التي أطلق عليها المؤلف عنوان "الأُسر القرآنيّة". يتميّز هذا الفرع العلميّ من علوم القرآن بالبحث في الرّوابط الدّقيقة، وبيان الهندسة اللفظيّة الموزّعة في طيّات السّور المتشابهة المطالع، والسّور المتشابهة الفواصل، والسّور التي تبدأ بأنساق وأنماط تعبيريّة متشابهة من غير أن تتّحد مطالعها في الموادّ المعجميّة المستعملة، وهو ميدان واسع فسيح يفتح أبوابا أمام الباحثين الأكاديميين وعشّاق البيان القرآني لمزيد من التّدبّر في نصوص التّنزيل، وتذوّق جماليّات البناء المحكم للسّور القرآنيّة. كما تجيب هذه المقاربة التّفسيريّة عن جملة من الأسئلة القرآنيّة الخالدة، وتساعد في توجيه كثير من آيات المتشابه اللفظي، وتثبت بما لا يدع مجالا للشّك جانبا من أسرار المجموعات القرآنية التي تتشابه مطالعها مثل أسرة سور الحمد، وسور المُسبّحات، وأسرة تبارك وغيرها، وجوانب أخرى من العلاقات بين السّور المتشابهة الأنساق في مطالعها مثل أسرة الصّافات والذّاريات والمرسلات وأخواتها.
