We study more ahadith in one year of the alim course than most scholars study in their entire lives. Sadly, our disregard for asanid caused Mf Muhammad Abdul Malik to remind us that

فإن ذكر الإسناد في أول الحديث ليس لزينة الأوراق!
بل ليستعان به في معرفة حكم الحديث، ولن تفيد قراءة الأسماء في ذلك شيئا ما لم تُعرف أحوالُ تلك الأسماء

Most of us, at some stage of our studies, realise the need for being able to check up a sanad and the importance of being able to tell if the narrators are reliable or not.

The problem is that this skill isn’t taught in our Madaris. So how does one develop it?
Fortunately, there are a number of books that have been recently authored, focusing on creating this ability.
