Quduri’s al-Mukhtasar is amongst the most popular Hanafi texts, taught in nearly every Hanafi institute, with dozens of commentaries authored on it.

Each commentary possesses certain characteristics and focuses on certain aspects.

This commentary, by al-Aqta’ (d.474 AH) boasts the following:
- It is the first commentary authored on Mukhtasar al-Quduri
- The author was the student of Quduri- His copy of Mukhtasar al-Quduri contains many additions not found in other copies of the book- He points out errors found in other copies of the book.
- His special focus is on giving dalil and reasoning for nearly every mas’alah in the book.- He also pays great attention to mentioning ikhtilaf, both within the madhab and between the madhahib
- He mentions the dalil/reasoning behind each view
- He frequently mentions objections that arise against the view or dalil of the madhab and refutes these objections
- He mentions many connected furu’, as well as qawaid and usul.
- He relied extensively on Quduri’s huge “Sharh Mukhtasar al-Karkhi”, which allowed him to present Quduri’s understanding of many masail.

This important work has recently been printed for the first time, in 7 thick volumes. The first volume covers the dirasah on the book and the matn of Mukhtasar al-Quduri.

This edition has been edited using 18 manuscripts of the sharh and 7 nushkahs of the matn. It also includes Allamah Qasim's work on the gharib ahadith in the sharh.
