لواقح الأنوار القدسية في بيان العهود المحمدية

Never judge a book by its cover or in this case, by its title!

The seemingly confusing title of this masterpiece is a cause of many overlooking it and thereby depriving themselves of its immense benefits.Allamah Sha’rani authored this work when he noticed that people are very diligent about any deficiencies they may incur in worldly matters, but very few seem concerned about deficiencies in their din.

He divided the book into two parts, each covered in one volume of this edition:
The first part covers that which were have been ordered to perform, while the second covers those actions that we have been ordered to refrain from.

Each one is discussed as an عهد ie, an undertaking we have entered into, thus the title mentions العهود المحمدية referring to the undertakings the followers of Muhammad Sallallahu alayhi wasallam have entered into.

Covering nearly 400 topics, the author brings ayat, ahadith and statements of the salaf to explain the importance of each and emphasises on how the guidance of a shaykh kamil is required for proper implementation of many of these qualities.

This is an amazing resource for bayans and for spiritual enlightenment.

A beautiful edition in two thick volumes, edited using 8 manuscripts, this is published by Dar at-Taqwa of Damascus who are known for their quality editions.
