50 Selected Hadiths

While memorisation of hadith is part of any decent Maktab and Alim course syllabus, the focus is generally only on hifz.
This beautiful work by Mawlana Muhammad Abasoomar not only gives the Arabic of the hadith with full tashkil and the English translation, but it also gives the reference to the book of hadith it appears in, with the hadith number.

But the really difference between this and other similar books is that Mawlana then provides two sections. First, a section called “Brief Notes” where he enumerates the fawaid derived from this hadith, with deep thought having been put into these.

The last section under each hadith is titled “Ask Yourself” and it poses pertinent questions to us, concerning how we have brought the lessons of this hadith into our lives.

Not only is this perfect for Hifz al-Hadith for older Maktab students as well as those in the beginning years of the Alim Course, but can even be a good tool for ulama preparing Jumu’ah bayans.
If you cannot find a suitable topic, simply open the book, select a hadith and the notes provided would be the framework for your bayan.
Just add in a little detail, spice it up with a story or two and your bayan is done.
