This book is among four to be published in English. The
second will be on the Caliph Omar Ibn Al-Khattab. The third will be on Othman
Ibn Affan and the fourth on Ali Ibn Abi Taleb. This series of great books are
translated to show the heritage of Islam. Their author is Mohammad Redha, the
former librarian of the Cairo University, and he wrote other books such as:
" Mohammad, the Messenger of
Allah", "Al-Hasan" and "Al-Hussien". This series is about
people who knew the Prophet of Allah (S.A.W.). They believed in Islam from the
very moment of its dawn and fought by sweat and blood to hoist high the name of
Allah (S.W.T.) everywhere on the globe. Their morals and manners are a torch
that lights the path of all generations.
Abu Bakr Al-Seddeq remains the fuel of that torch which supplies us with faith
and an example for Islam and Muslims. His
way of life was guided by the light of justice and faith in Allah (S.W.T.) and His Messenger (S.A.W.). The battles that Abu Bakr fought against the
polytheists and unbelievers were the fiercest and the most dangerous. Those
battles, particularly the wars against apostasy, built a very strong and firm foundation
for the spread of Islam. Had the apostates defeated the Muslims, Islam would have died in its
infancy. The victories won under the
leadership of Abu Bakr as the first caliph of the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W.)
gave Islam the momentum to go forward into the neighbouring countries. Also,
the pledge of allegiance given to him by the Muslims provided him with all the
might and the authority to continue spreading the sublime message of Islam.
