Allamah Habeebur Rahmaan Azmi: An Illustrious Authority on Hadith

Indeed, even a cursory study of the lives of true Ulama is a source of great inspiration and tremendous reward. It helps us appreciate our Deen even more and urges us to adopt the spiritual attributes of our Pious Predecessors and increases us in our commitment and zeal to seek, protect and disseminate the true knowledge of Islam.

One such legendary star in the beautiful galaxy of our Ulama of the past is Allaamah Habeebur Rahmaan Azmi, known in the circle of the Ulama as Muhaddithê Kabeer. May Allah illuminate his resting place.

Allaamah was a man of piety, simplicity, trustworthiness and deep foresight and a multi-talented master of the different disciplines of Islamic learning.

This brief biography allows us a glimpse into the life and works of this illustrious friend of Allah who was a Faqeeh (jurist), a Mufassir, and a Muhaddith. Allaamah was also an author of innumerable works, a meticulous researcher, a brilliant reviewer of legendary texts, a sword against heretic sects and a dynamic advocate of the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah.
