Suppose there had been a man who opened his eyes after long
sleep and, instead of finding himself twisting and turning in his bed, he saw
himself inside a compartment of a train hastening to nowhere. It was going
through mountains and valleys he had never known anything about before! Who
thrust him and seated him in that train? When did it happen? Who was driving
him? Who regulated his journey and planned for his movement? What would be done
to him personally? Such a man cannot help wondering about all that. He cannot
comfort his nerves not to be agitated or not to pursue what he does not know.
Therefore, he cannot. By pretend to be busy and inattentive to the beauty of
the way and the strangeness of the sights he sees. We have opened our eyes -
since our early childhood - upon a life which we did not know anything about
its origin, end or destiny. Our sights extended all around and reached dark
horizons about whose immobile roots and developed branches we knew nothing at
all, so dozens of inquiries late rose in our minds. What will quench our thirst
and comfort our minds by giving answers to these inquiries? May it be science, philosophy
or Religion? This is what the writer tries to reveal in this book, by which he
starts a series. He introduces its episodes to the human's conscience and to
the human as a pure human, regardless of his doctrinal inclination or national
belonging.
