Fazail e Durood-Virtues of Salaat alan Nabi-Talimi Board

The very first book in this series was Fazaail-e-Qur-aan (Virtues of the Qur-aan), which was written in the year 1348 A.H. upon the instruction of Hadhrat Shah Muhammad Yaaseen Naginwi (rahmatullahi alayh), who was a Khalifah of Qutbul Aalam, Shaikhul Mashaaikh, Hadhrat Moulana Gangohi (rahmatullahi alayh). During his parting moments from this world, Hadhrat Shah Saahib (rahmatullahi alayh) made a bequest to his senior Khalifah Moulana Haaji Abdul Azeez that he hopes that the virtues of Durood Shareef can be compiled just as the virtues of the Qur-aan had been. After he passed away, Hadhrat Moulana Abdul Azeez Saahib persistently reminded me to fulfil this bequest and I, despite my inability, always wished to have the honour of completing this work.

Apart from Hadhrat Shah Saahib (rahmatullahi alayh), there had been several other as well who insisted, but due to the awe that I felt for Rasulullah صل اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمْ, the leader of all the worlds and the pride of all the messengers, I kept on fearing that I may write something that would insult his great status in some way.

It was during this time that I had the opportunity to visit Hejaz for the third time last year upon the insistence of Hadhrat Moulana Muhammad Yusuf Saahib (rahmatullahi alayh). With the grace of Allah Ta'ala, I then had the chance of performing Hajj for the fourth time. It was when I visited the pure city of Madinah Munawwarah after performing Hajj, my heart kept on asking me what was the reason for not writing a book on the virtues of Durood Shareef. Although I was able to offer many excuses, it was the insistence of the heart that made me decide to Insha Allah complete the work as soon as I returned from the journey.

I have decided to write this book with several chapters and a conclusion.

1. The first chapter will discuss the virtues of Durood Shareef in general
2. The second will discuss the virtues of certain specific forms of Durood Shareef
3. The third will contain warnings against not reciting Durood Shareef
4. The fourth will discuss different matters on this subject
5. The fifth will narrate incidents on this subject.
