Ever since he
preached his first sermon, people from the world over have fallen in love with
the Prophet of Islam. As a community our quest has been how to capture this love,
teach this love, pass on this love and become this love. These inquiries and
many more related to them are the core questions that drove Qādī 'Iyād to
compile his famous ash-Shifā' to serve, above all, as a manual of love and devotion
to our beloved Messenger . Since it was first written nearly 900 years ago,
this book has been universally accepted by the ummah as one of the greatest celebrations
of Prophet Muhammad . It teaches us what are beliefs about the Prophet
constitute, what he represents both metaphysically and physically and the necessary
rights and responsibilities we owe him as his followers. Since the original is
